Here are some photos of the Hearts for Heroes project the guild has been working on.  They are polymer clay hearts that are sent to soldiers to be put on their dog tags to let them know that people at home are thinking of them.  Karin Serra is the organizer for this project for our guild.  If  you want more info here is a site that explains the program: http://www.palousenet.com/h4h/

Our silent auction at Cancer Survivors Day was a big success, bringing in over $500! Half of the proceeds will go to the Nevada Cancer Institute, and the other half will be used to sustain our BOH program. Thanks to Rhonda G., Carrol K., Linda H., Karin S., Janet R., and Michelle H. for their help at our booth.

We have the results of our first ever (in 9 years) Presidential Election. Melody Stein is our new President and Rhonda Garlick is our new Vice President. Congratulations to both of you.

Lisa is happy and proud to announce that last month's annual charity auction raised over $500 which will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer on behalf of the guild.

We need your help!!! We need you, our members to volunteer your skills and ideas to demonstrate or conduct mini workshops at the monthly meetings.new item

Please contact Lisa Pavelka: 243-6564 e:mail: lisaandallen@earthlink.net if you'd like to participate. You need not be an expert or have prior teaching experience. If you have a project you like to create or a technique you've learned that you'd like to share, give a call. Lesson plans do not have to fill an entire meeting. If you've ever thought about giving classes in polymer clay for profit, here's your chance to get valuable experience, working in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Clay Classes

An exhibit of Las Vegas Polymer Clay Guild Artwork representing various members was on display in the Sahara West Fine Art Museum/Library lobby from March 5th through April 20th, 2003. Judging by all the wonderful comments made by the general public it was a great success.
